CHOICE OF A HIGH-PRESSURE SYSTEM

The following charts are a help-material for finding out which high-pressure system is the best one for a specific application. There are three main variables, which have an influence on the choice:

  1. Material type
    Material quality and thickness fundamentally determines the possible speed of cutting and needed size of the nozzle. In addition, the toughness of the material determines, when is possible to use only a clean water and when are abrasives needed.
  2. Cutting speed
    The cutting speed is determined by the number of the nozzles which are needed to fulfil your production requests. The speed of the cutting head changes according to material thickness, operation pressure, quality and quantity of abrasives, shape of the cut and requested edge-finishing.
  3. The size of the nozzles
    Water consumption of the cutting machine depends on the number and the size of the nozzles. The more at once working nozzles and the bigger these nozzles are, the bigger are demands on pump performance.

UNCOVERED PRODUCTIVITY

The advantages of 6,200 bar pressures are especially well-founded from the effectivity reason, in cases, when the operators need to cut thick or very hard materials. In comparison to traditional 4,000 bar applications, higher operation pressure increases the sameness as well as the quality of the cut edge.

  • Cutting with 6,200 bar can help the operators to improve the cutting speed by up to 50%. It, however, depends on the material and its thickness.
  • High operating pressures increase the sameness as well as the quality of the cut edge. In many cases there is no need to additional improvement of the final edges.
  • 6,200 bar dramatically lowers the consumption of abrasives.
  • The increased cutting speed enables to process more pieces in the same time and that leads to lower the costs for one piece.
  • When penetrating and cutting composite materials, the higher pressure lowers the possibility of dividing the reinforced-plastic layer.

STEP 1

Determine approximate cutting speed categories. As soon as we know these categories, and we have estimated the size of the nozzles, it is possible to make a decision based on the demand of number of the cutting heads.

The values in the chart are only approximate values, because the actual cutting speed can be influenced by some others variables (water quality, nozzle wear, etc.)

Determine the size of the machine, based on the nozzle size and the number of the cutting heads. KMT high-pressure pumps differ according to maximal dimensions of the pressure and the motor performance, which influences the amount of the water flow.

MULTIPLIER – A RELIABLE HEART OD ALL ULTRA-HIGH-PRESSURE PUMPS

The source of the output of high-pressure systems lies in the multiplier. KMT has made a modification of this source, has set new standards in terms of user-affability, maintenance demands and reliability whatsoever.

PLUNGER

Plunger is made of ceramic material. In comparison to metal plunger, this one has harder and smoother surface, which better resists the wearing out, eliminates the knurling, and lengthens sealing life span.

EXCLUSIVELY LONG AND SLOW STROKE

Lowered maintenance of lengthened sealing life span are the result of the longer stroke (8’’), generating less stokes than alternative products do.

BOLTED END-CAP FOR THE CYLINDER

Sophisticated design of the end-cap enables the restriction of the pressure bigger than 4,000 bar (6,000 bar) by the torque only 48 Nm (96 Nm). In addition it is not needed to demount the multiplier completely, when maintaining.

HYPERLIFETM SEALING SET

INDICATORS OF THE OUTLET-HOLE

Outlet-holes reveal the state of inner sealing, they protect all of the high-pressure components against bigger wear-out damages and ensure a maximal life span of these components.

‘’UNISTEP’’ SEAL AND VALVE CHANGE

You can change the low-pressure valves, installed in the control body of the valve, in the time interval 5-10 minutes.

HYDRAULIC SEALING

Practical pad seal in the multiplier combines 6 seals in one cleaning pad. It is possible o change it easily, without demounting the whole hydraulic part of the multiplier.

ELECTRONICAL SHIFTING

QUICK PLUNGER RELEASE CONCEPT

Thanks to patented design it takes only four steps to take the plunger out of the hydraulic piston and there is no need to complete demount of the hydraulic part.

Soft Seal End Cap dxesign „SSEC“

A few thousands of multipliers are in the present used worldwide, and many of them are used in multiple-shifts operations. Proved and tested sealing set ensures a reliable sealing and the pre-stressed jack pins in the end cap of the multiplier which are possible to loosen and fasten again without using any special tools, ensure an easy maintenance. NEOLINE design is equipped with this multiplier as well.

Hard Seal End Cap design „HSEC“

Innovative design of the end cap ensures the sealing metal to metal, which eliminates rubber seals. By that it lowers the number of consumable parts and spares the operation costs. It also lengthens the life span of the operation-ability of your cutting system.
HSEC design is used within all STREAMLINE series pumps. In addition it includes the longer version (in ration of 23:1) for high-pressure pumps with the output of 100 HP and more. It also includes a shorter version (in ratio of 20:1) for the pumps with the output of 50 HP.

OPTIONAL PUMP ACCESSORIES

REDUNDANT MULTIPLIER

By adding one more multiplier you will gain a complete identical high-pressure operating system for a high pressure pump. Activation of the redundant system takes only a few minutes and it keeps a continual flow with a maximal pressure for a continuous operation. This accessory is worth investing in only for one-device workshops and with a busy production programme, which need a continuous, reliable production as well. It is almost like having two pumps in one. It takes less space and considerably less investments. Please ask us for more information about the designs of pumps, which are possible to equip with a redundant multiplier.

WATER SUPPLY FROM ONE COMMON NET

Many companies widen their production every year. In case, there are more capacities needed, it is possible to add more STREAMLINETM. This would help to supply one common net with water and therefor more cutting stations. Step by step, you can increase your productivity in terms of your further production.

PROPORTIONAL CONTROL

Proportional control enables automatic changes of the pressure which is generated by the pump. You can change it even in the middle of the work and maximize the device time, and change the cutting speed. You can also considerably reduce complexity of the cutting and shorten the requested time of the cutting, mainly when is the device working with fragile materials such as ceramic tiles and glass. Proportional control enables to lower the pressure when penetrating the material, to increase it for cutting lines and set it again for shape-cutting. The pressure is possible to set to any level.

ADDITIONAL TOOLS AND OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES

There are tool and spares sets on disposal as well as screw cutting tools and cone-making tools. By installing of this accessory, you can connect multiple pumps to a common high-pressure supply the most remote continuous producing workshop: the pump system connected to a net, in which are those pumps supervised by the stroke control system. Available from KMT only, is this control a perfect tool for connecting multiple pumps and creating a considerably more reliable source of the high pressure. Stroke control system controls an output from each pump, if it responds to the capacity of this pump and if it is proportional to the load, which is need for this pump-net. Stroke control system supervises the rate of the stroke of each pump, so the need of the whole system is evenly divided among all of the pumps.
